social media SELF PROMO campaign
For years, people have remarked that I look like Samuel L. Jackson. So, when freelance work slowed down in NY this year, I decided to take advantage of the resemblance and the fact that a new Shaft movie was due in June 2019.
Starting on Mother’s Day, I created “SheltonSays”, a series of social media self-promo posts (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) and emails that feature my Shaft-like alter ego making cheeky comments while chilling in NYC.
Over six weeks, website visits increased 300%, I snagged a couple of freelance projects, and an article was written about the campaign. Plus a lot of laughs along the way.
