chapeau: the milliner's guild campaign

My wife is British milliner, Joy Scott. Before she went solo, she was affiliated with a talented group of Chicago hat makers called Chapeau, the Milliners’ Guild.

Below are a few examples of their hats and headpieces. I was commissioned to create a series of posters to adorn their display tables during hat shows and other events.

I think hats and headpieces with personality deserve ads with personality. So, I created this pithy headline-driven campaign to charm and engage visitors who stopped by.

This poster playfully targets people who say they don’t wear hats because it messes up their hair. Message being, “the right hat is so worth it”.

This hat reminded me of a modern art piece.

This headpiece is so attention-grabbing, I thought it could help ladies avoid other unwanted attention.
